Tokyo-born cult beauty brand Shiseido recently relaunched its make-up range and I’m beyong excited to tell you all about it. Established in 1872 and backed by years and years of innovation and research, Shiseido manages to reinvent beauty as we know it by combining art and science. Result is a series of innovative products that incorporate the finest pigments and locally sourced ingredients, bringing us weightless yet vibrant products in bold colours, transformative textures and unbeatable quality. The brand’s new mantra—“Beauty Reimagined. Beauty Made With Soul.”—is reflected by the entire collection.
The entire collection, let me tell you, is pure perfection. The craftsmanship of the Japanese company reflects in all of the products, its minimalistic packaging and highly pigmented composition. The collection includes 22 products which all fall under one of the four different texture groups. Shiseido distinguishes four textures that form the heart of the collection: Gels, Dews, Powders and Inks.
Dews are a new category that recreates light and transforms it on the skin’s surface. One my my favorite products and already a total Holy Grail of mine is the Aura Dew Face, Eye, Lip. It is available in three shades and is a magical highlighter. Super pigmented and can easily be build down for a subtle look. Dews don’t simply seek to illuminate; rather its goal is to transform any surface using unparalleled levels of multifaceted light. In regards to the Gels, oh my! Shiseido totally reimagines gels through new formulas that give you a durable, high-impact finish whilst feeling light as a feather.
Shiseido gives new life to traditional pigments via breathable, buildable and blendable formulas, which all fall under the category Powders. The powders are all named after Shiseido’s many muses, hip Tokyo streets, and Japan’s buzzing nightlife. Unparalleled Inks redefine the acient art form of Japanese calligraphy with products that give you graphic precision and extreme intensity.
I’ve created a simple yet stunning party-proof make-up look using my favourite products of Shiseido. A lovely golden glowy base with a neutral smokey eye, fresh skin and a beautiful statement lip!

The skin: Let there be light!
I use my fingertips to glide Aura Dew Face, Eyes, Lip across the high points of my face for a “weightless wash of celestial sparkle”. I go in with the Naname Fude Multi Eye Brush to diffuse and bled the highlight easily across my eyelids and pat a little more product on the inner parts of my eyes and right above my upper lip, the cupid’s bow.
The eyes: Essentialist Eye Palette
A bold statement lip requires a slightly muted eye look, and the Essentialist Eye Palette is perfect to do just that; The colors within the … palette are the perfect delicate nude shades to build your eye look with. A transparent base eliminates any chalkiness and lends lids pure color that lasts 12 hours without creasing, while spherical powders offer a smooth, rollerball effect with zero drag. The lips: The perfect pout
Nothing better than a bright red lip for a party look! I use the Ginza Red (222), a gorgeous red inspired by the upscale, fashionable neighborhood in Tokyo, for a statement pout. Ginza Red truly is a timeless, universal color that is supposed to flatter every skin tone.
Fool-proof winged eyes
The ArchLiner Ink Eye liner is infused with high-impact pigments which bring a saturated, matte color that never smudges to the table. The weightless, inky pencil features Thermo-Sensory Technology
