Earlier this week I did an interview with De Standaard, talking about my style inspiration, favourite items in my closet and my biggest style tip. My answer to that questions? “Dress up, even on days when you don’t feel like it – it will make you feel a lot better”. I find myself writing this blog post from my favourite little nook of the couch, fully dressed in old joggers and a sweatshirt (let’s call it athleisue wear, okay?). [pullquote_left] “Dress up, even on days when you don’t feel like it – it will make you feel a lot better” [/pullquote_left]  Lately I can’t help myself but switch to full-on pyama-style within seconds from arriving home after a long day in the office. I totally blame the season for this, though, as there is nothing I rather want to wear around the house than comfy layers of warm, chunky, oversized loungewear. This is bound to change when the weather gets less chilly and more sunny, I assure you. But for now, all I want to do is transform into a giant ball of comfort every night.

The athleisure trend has been all around us, and it makes us not really want to dress up – pair your favourite joggers with some high heeled booties and you’ve got yourself a Kardashian-proof going-out ensemble. However, I vow to make more of an effort when it comes to dressing up. Putting on a fancy outfit for a dinner at a nice restaurant, or even incorporating more luxurious fabrics into my daily looks. This matching ensemble is the perfect look for a nice evening out, but both the items work just as well worn seperately. I’ve already worn the silky leopard-print skirt with sneakers and a sweater, and can’t wait to pair the top with denim and heels for an elevated office look.
