[dropcap]#[/dropcap]destinationhappy! When I still lived in Hasselt, I used to visit Maasmechelen Village on a regular basis. I might not be much of a designer clothing lover (much more a designer bag hoarder) but I still loved going to the Village to soak up the vibe. Seriously, it always feels like visiting a theme park! And nothing has changed: I still get excited when driving to Maasmechelen. Especially when the trip involves a private driver and an overnight stay at the lovely Terhills 4 star hotel. The village is particulary pleasant to visit during winter months: the entire premisses exude a holiday spirit!

I discovered the recently opened The Cosmetics Company Store where I scored Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair eye cream, and visisted the one-day old Polo Ralph Lauren boutique where I bought a wool sweater for the boyfriend, the iconic cable sweater for myself and a few other RL monogrammed accessories. I then headed to Essentiel, ate delicious pizza at Guliano’s and got some skincare goodies at L’Occitane. A quick stop at Nike had me scoring a new pair of crisp white trainers for only 60 euros. But the best catch of my stay? This heavenly teddy coat by Maison Scotch. I fell in love with it whilst in Amsterdam last year, but couldn’t justify spending that amound of money – luckily I found it in the outlet for only 140 euros. I most definitely had a pleasant stay at Maasmechelen Village and the Terhills hotel, and can recommend this place for a day trip or a weekend get-away! Don’t know what to do tomorrow? The village is even open on 11 November from 10AM to 8PM!
