How thrilled am I to finally be able to write this blog post.. Today I’m not introducing you to yet another fashion brand or beauty secret, but something much closer to my heart. If you’re following this blog from the early days, you probably know how much I love dogs, and how sad it was to have to say goodbye to Zelton, the labrador we rescued from the shelter. A few years after his passing I was finally ready to adopt another dog, and I thought long and hard about it. But it never seemed the right time or the right fit for the situation.

Until last wednesday, when Cédric and I were having lunch at a local place. I was scrolling through my facebook feed when a message caught my eye. I’m a member of various groups in which owners seek a new family for their dog, and a new listing was just posted. We messaged and arranged a meeting for the day after, and that was it.

Long story short: on Saturday, my birthday, I drove up to the north of the country to pick up mister Lewis. He’s been with us for only 5 days now, but I already know that he is perfect for us. And we try to be as perfect as we can for him as well. Never have I walked so much around the neighbourhood as of late, but I’m loving every minute of it. Yep, even the early morning walks and awkward poop-scooping 😉

Busy lives, a small appartmant, a crowded city… It is surely not the most ideal situation to get a dog. But the thing is, Lewis will be around for more than 10 years. I’ll be 36 by then, so who knows what will happen. All I know is that I vow to make his life as pleasant and enriching as I possibly can, because I know he does the same for me.

So get ready for a lot of Lewis cameos on the blog, because Dogs and Dresses is finally complete again 😉 Hope you’re as excited to meet Lewis as I was!
