How my weekend was? Well, rather eventful to say the least! Instead of going to a local place to see the Belgium – Tunisia game, we boarded a plane to Moscow to see our Red Devils play in real life! A true experience, which I got to have thanks to the Coca Cola Belgium crew. Here’s what our day looked like.

02:45 Wakey-wakey

Riiing; my alarm goes off at this unholy hour, and after what felt like 2 minutes of sleep, I need to drag myself out of bed and into the shower. Well-organized as I am, I’ve laid out my outfit the night before (in this case: mere hours before). Red hoodie, jeans and sneakers will do for this day of traveling. My game-outfit is packed away safely in my carry-on.

04:00 Arrived at the Airport

Date at the Coca Cola counter at Brussels Airport – I meet up with Yannick and Ludovic and some people from Coca Cola company. Everywhere you look are people dressed in red soccer jerseys! I receive my boarding pass, fan ID and game ticket and start to get very excited!

06:00 Ready for take-off

Seriously, this flight was pure joy! Good seats, on-board entertainment and a welcome breakfast made the journey to Russia very comfortable. Three hours later, we arrived and we’re ready for some football fun.

10.00 Hello Russia

We arrive in Moscow and hop on the bus to the Spartak stadium. It’s a 45 minute drive from the airport and even though I should probably try and get some sleep, my eyes are wide open to get some sightseeing in. The soccer fever is starting to grow on me so I’m pumped to see the game, but also look forward to visiting the city afterwards.

15.00 Game Time

It’s ON! The vibe in the stadium in incredible and even though I’m seated next to supporters from the opposite team, the atmosphere is amazing! The sun is OUT as well, so it is scorching hot on the bleachers, but I’ve enjoyed every minute of the game and the ambience in the Spartak stadium. Needless to say the game itself was amazing to see live, and with the end score at 5-2 for Belgium we rushed out to catch a metro to the city center.

18:00 Red Square

Even though some deemed it impossible to try and visit the Red Square and still catch our flight on time, we went ahead and took the chance. So happy we did, because Moscow is an incredibly beautiful city! It was the shortest visit ever, especially because we kept getting asked to pose for pictures with other tourists 😂 After we managed to make our way through the square, we get picked up by Russian television and lead into a studio for a live broadcast. Yep, this all really happened 😂😂

19.00 The 3-minute Kremlin Photoshoot

We rush through the city to find a good spot to take pictures, because part of the Red Square is closed for the day. After an intense run (my fitbit counted 21.000 steps by the end of the day), we found a good spot and had the world’s quickest photo shoot. We have to run to the metro again to catch our train to the airport.

22.00 Back to Belgium

And that was it! We fly back to Belgium with Brussels Airlines and land 3 later. At this point I’m basically awake for over 40 hours but am still super energized because of the awesome day we had! Thank you oh so much Coca Cola Belgium for making this all possible, very proud to be a Coke Ambassador! Shout-out to our guide Alexandra and the guys Yannick and Ludo for the good company! GO BELGIUM ⚽🏆🇧🇪
