Holiday Moments and 2017 Highlights

Last day of 2017, iiiiekkk! I can’t stop with talking about what an amazing year it has been – both on a personal and professional level I feel like 2017 was a happy and productive year, a prelude to more! I feel very lucky and that is something I want to keep reminding myself: even though things don’t always go as planned (and being a Virgo, I like to plan everything!), there’s still so much to be grateful for in life. Being happy and being aware of what causes that happiness is something I want to keep doing in the new year.

Let’s round up a few of the highlights that formed 2017, shall we?

  • my love and I moved into our new apartment
  • we enjoyed life abroad: Barcelona, Madrid, the Dominican Republic, Greece, Ibiza
  • lewis made me smile so much
  • my precious godchild Ebe was born in August
  • and my best friend gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in May
  • there was this article on HLN.be, a feature in Flair and a video on ELLE.be

No better way to ring in the new year than comfortably sat at a festive table, surrounded by friends or family, enjoying a nice meal. Since I still haven’t learned how to cook a decent meal I focused on setting the table and on creating a festive ambience. Think I managed to do a pretty good job, even though I must admit I got a little help! Because I didn’t feel like our everyday plates and cutlery were quite festive enough for the holidays, I got these gorgeous pink textured plates and pinterest-worthy gold cutlery via Collishop. I love how the vieux rose and the shiny gold work well together, especially paired with the glasses, magnum Moët & Chandon bottle and fun glitter confetti flakes. We finally got ourselves one of those Brita water filter things too, which means no more having to buy plastic bottled water. Win for nature, win for us! I can’t wait to see what the chef has been cooking up for dinner later tonight, but I’m sure we’ll have a good time at this table. Hope you are all spending New Year’s Eve with the people you care about the most, and be safe!
